4-Day Amboseli & Tsavo Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara

Nairobi to Amboseli Distance: 240 km
Estimated Drive Time: 4.5-5 hours
Accommodation: Nyati Safari Camp, Amboseli Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive south toward Amboseli National Park, passing through open plains and local towns along the way. The journey gradually opens up to sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro as you approach the park.

This Amboseli day tour lets you arrive at Nyati Safari Camp in time for lunch and check-in. After some rest, head out for an evening game drive, exploring Amboseli’s vast marshes and savannahs, home to large elephant herds and diverse wildlife.

Return to camp for dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park (Morning & Evening Game Drives)

Distance Driven in Park: 40-60 km (Game Drives)
Estimated Drive Time: Flexible; 2-4 hours

Start the day with an early morning game drive, ideal for wildlife sightings and clear Kilimanjaro views. Return to camp for breakfast and relaxation.

After lunch, enjoy leisure time before heading out again for an afternoon/evening game drive, capturing Amboseli in the soft glow of sunset.

All meals and overnight at Nyati Safari Camp.

Day 3: Amboseli – Tsavo East National Park

Distance: 250 km
Estimated Drive Time: 5-6 hours
Accommodation: Voi Wildlife Lodge Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel toward Tsavo East National Park. The drive transitions from open plains to Tsavo’s rugged and semi-arid landscapes.

This leg of our Tsavo National Park tours brings you to Voi Wildlife Lodge in time for lunch and check-in. Later in the afternoon, proceed for a late game drive, exploring Tsavo’s iconic red-earth terrain, lava flows, and wildlife corridors.

Return to the lodge for dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Tsavo East – Nairobi / Mombasa

To Nairobi:
Distance: 330 km
Estimated Drive Time: 6-7 hours
To Mombasa:
Distance: 160 km
Estimated Drive Time: 3-4 hours

After breakfast, depart Tsavo East for your onward destination, enjoying final views of the wilderness as the safari comes to a close.
